I have a sealed game where someone used black marker (I'm guessing a Sharpie) on the wrap to write a date on it. Any suggestions for how to remove this without damaging the wrap?

Alcohol will help you. It won't damage the seal.

The only difference between marker and permanent marker is that permanent is resistant to water and fingers. lol! Nothing beats alcohol.
It is the ultimate creation of human mankind. Happy Birthday
However alcohol cannot be used over paper. But over plastic it's ok.

Rubbing alcohol left unremovable marks on the shrinkwrap of my sealed N64 videotape so I cannot really suggest it. I use petrol ("essence à nettoyer" in French, not sure about the translation). That never leaves bad marks on plastics like alcohol does.

You must mean something else in English. Petrol is gasoline.
