Re: Introduce yourself
Didn't see any "presentation" board so thought I might give a shoot here:
Sealeddreamcast, french collector, been told to come to this site by darkric on ebay.
Mainly collecting sega stuff, finished the complete master system pal set, still two games to go for the 32 X set (darxide and T-mek), got a complete dreamcast set but aiming to reach a more crazy goal: the complete factory sealed pal set.
Already got 129/217.
Also got a lot of random sealed games for random systems (not really after them but when they come not too expensive )
My collecting goal for the moment: get T-mek and darxide (needs to save a little bit of money Rofl) , then, restart buying sealed dreamcast games and megadrive games (got around 500 now).
Afterwards, I think I'll move on sega genesis and us 32x. Huge work to get the complete sets !
For the last two years, I've been german cover variations obsessed lol, got tons of master system and megadrive germans versions, only missing a few. So I hope you will help me out
Funny to see so many nicknames I have beaten up (or that have beaten me) on ebay the last years

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi sealeddreamcast and welcome in our community!
First of all your collection goal (a complete factory sealed master system collection) is really crazy but otherwise really nice ! And i think many board users can help you to find german cover variations.

been a member of neo-geo.com for 6 years but when i buy stuff no matter what it is i like to keep it minty mint, hate opening sealed things which has been costly in the past as if i buy sealed controllers i dont want to open it or damage the box lol and same with the mvs kits didnt want to open them and play the game as then the carts would get scratches
maybe when i get a bit of spare cash there are a couple of neo geo cd games i wouldny mind getting sealed

Re: Introduce yourself
Lol....yes, I know the problem
The problem is also: if you open them you will lost money, a lot of money
...just because of this stupid cellophane around the games. The answer is: keep them sealed and buy a used game.

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi Bronty!
In woolworths they had batman bubblegum that were 20 in a nice box with art and they had several boxes all opened and i asked the lady if she had any in the back that were unopened and to my suprise she found a nice box still with its cellophane tightly sealed around the case then stuck her finger through the cellophane to take one of the bubble gums ourt and in shock i said what are you doing and she said she had to take one out to scan the price code........... I couldnt believe it, all she had to do was scan one from the open boxes as it defeated the whole purpose i could have easily just stuck 20 in one box and took that
if only all people thought look collectors it would be a lot easier
funny thing I use to have a matein the states who collected the batman items and i was putting together alot of UK only items for him plus promotion boxesSammelhammel wrote:Lol....yes, I know the problem

Re: Introduce yourself
nice story.
Yes, a lot of people don't know that there are so crazy people out there who gonna cry when the cellophane is damaged. Ok..I think the main-purpose for the cellophane is to protect the item inside and not to put a smile on a collectors face
But in this case I show them one of BRONTYs finished ebay-auctions and they are calm for the rest of their life

hehe, great story. Similarly, there's a game chain in the US (I can't remember which one it is) that will open up sealed vintage games if they get them traded in. In other words, their database doesn't have the old price codes in the system anymore, so by company policy they have to open it up and sell it as used. A friend of mine bought some just-opened NES games that way So the clerk destroyed 75% of the value..

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi, I'm new on these forum boards. I was based in Japan, but now I'm living in Melbourne, Australia.
I'm 29 years of age and I'm a self-confessed SONY Fan-man!
My sealed collection is nothing to boast about, because with the exception of MGS: PO on PSP, it's only SEGA SATURN for now. :flower:

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi guys! Name's Richie from Ipswich (UK), and I am a self-confessed sealed game collector. I know I have a problem, but there ain't no rehab that can cure my obsession! I was headhunted by SammelHammel on eBay (Well, kinda just stumbled upon me really), but I am a regular at Digital Press and Dreamcast History too. I would also like to think that I have a small cult following online too! Lol!
I am widely known for my sealed PAL Dreamcast collection, and would like to think that I was one of the first to try to attempt to go for the complete sealed set of PAL Dreamcast games (Nice to see some familiar names on these forums whom I have met from either eBay or various other forums). I also collect various collector's editions for most formats, so long as they come sealed. I collect sealed games for almost all formats. Mostly PAL UK versions, but do have a small collection of American and Japanese imports for various systems.
I have a 3/4 complete sealed PAL Dreamcast set (Gotten the majority of the rare's under my belt already), and I am just missing 4 or 5 more games from having a complete N-Gage collection too. I have various sub-collections which I like to collect games for (Final Fantasy; Pokemon; Resident Evil; Zelda etc), and I have a slightly obscure obsession with sealed Konami games too...
I have always bought sealed games (I like them to be "Brand new"), but got to the point where I was buying more than I could possibly play, so I became a collector and it escalated from there. As my tastes widened, I began to seek out more expensive and collectable games, and it would be a sin to open them! I estimate I have over 700-800 unique titles in my collection which are still factory sealed, out of almost 1,000 games owned

Hi I'm youruglyclone, and I've dealt with pascal in the past.
however I found out about this place via kotaku...(ironically I was thinking about contacting pascal and telling him about this place, somewhat of a moot point now.)
I don't really collect sealed games per say...it's more of an unintentional side effect of buying more than you have the time to play, of course there is the occasional "let me buy this and resell on ebay" moments (MGS3 Subsistance LE), otherwise I hope to stick around and learn a bit more about sealed games.
