violentsnake's Metal Gear sealed collection
Ok, I'm just gonna cut and paste my list from my site. Not everything is a sealed item but most are. I'm too lazy to pick out what's what.
You can find the link to my site in my sig, with full gallery of the items (including individual pix of each item).
Since I have a ton of sealed MG items, if you ever need any reference to them I'd be happy to help you out (e.g. if you wanted to try to spot a fake).
Since most items would appeal to a Sony collector I'll post it here.

Re: violentsnake's Metal Gear sealed collection
Thanks for the comments, I do have over 100 pix in the gallery on my site, but here are a few I've posted on other forums:
I actually have a ton of other factory sealed games (lots of Zelda and FF titles, mostly PS1) that I actually don't really want anymore so I may be posting some pretty sick auctions in the near future. Some rare sealed demos too.

Re: violentsnake's Metal Gear sealed collection
Hey,
I was 10 yrs old when I first played MG, now at 30 I still love the series. MGS1 release was a huge day for me, and finishing MGS4 felt like a 20yr chapter of my gaming life came to a close (in a definate good way). As far as the collecting, alot of the items are originals purchased by me the day the item was released, but there are many items where I have to import.
As far as auctions I'll be posting, there's a few people that'll get first dibs. Next I'll list for private sale in forums, then I'll list on ebay. I'm in no real rush to sell as I'm honestly not in a position to be concerned about money, but alot of my items I don't really care about any more. I'd rather pass them on to other collectors as it does kinda suck there's alot of games and figures I have that are worth $200-$400 each and they're in a box in the closet or hidden on the bottom shelf of my display case under all my Metal Gear items heh.
Most items are PS1/2, and almost all the non-Sony games are Zelda games. I'll likely hold onto my N64 Ocarina of Time: Collectors Edition sealed as it's in immaculate 11/10 condition (yeah, it's so perfect it defies logic and passes a 10) but all the other Zeldas and figures may go. I have alot of figures too that are pretty rare I may get rid of (like a Halo Series 1 Cortana mint on sealed card) as they're collecting dust in storage. I don't display anything but Snake
I'll work on a list when I have time. You might be able to spot some of my sealed items in my Metal Gear pictures if the bottom shelf is displayed. I know the sealed black label FFtactics is prominently displayed at the bottom. I've had it since release day heh.

Re: violentsnake's Metal Gear sealed collection
You have a lot of stuff you're selling no argument, but it looks like you're looking for top $$$ for it and don't care if you don't sell it for high price. I'm judging by the MGS game u have in eBay right now. Looks like you either want a lot of money or you'll keep it yourself judging by the tone of that listing, right?
Isn't this against your helping other collectors / I don't need money ideology?? Correct me if I am wrong.

Re: violentsnake's Metal Gear sealed collection
Heh, you see, there's a big difference for me between:
Metal Gear items, and other video games.
It would take ALOT to pry a Metal Gear item out of my collection as there's more value for me than money. A sealed Y-fold FF8 black label? That means nothing to me other than whatever the market price might be.
I won't go through the story behind my metal gear auction (OK I will, keep reading), but let's just say if anything hits ebay non-Metal Gear it'll start at 0.99.
Anything I sell privately would be for the avg ebay or YJP typical closing price.
BUT, nobody is gonna get a steal, or even a "great deal" off me. If I see a case where an item closes consistently at $100, I won't take $90 for it lets just say that.
I don't want *this* particular thread to turn into people turning on me because I'm not desperate to sell my items. People can start a separate "violentsnake is a douche" thread somewhere else that's perfectly fine heh. I'll call me an asshole too!
Ugh, it's replies like that that make me realise I don't need the money and selling = hassle. I really don't need to go through all the trouble listing, describing items, posting them, working out outside-ebay deals, waiting for payments, listing on ebay, all the fees involved, defending my asking prices by providing examples, packaging and shipping items.... I gotta sell $600 worth of items to equal a days pay so sorry if I'm not extremely motivated to do so. The only motivation I have to sell is, as I take an immense pride in my Metal Gear collection, there's alot of titles sitting around that make me say "Hey there's someone out there that loves Final Fantasy as much I love love Metal Gear, maybe I'll try to get this into their hands".
Oh well, that listing has been very valuable to me, alot of contacts have found me through there. A couple REALLY REALLY good contacts. I even found this site from that listing! Someone msg'd me telling me I might like this site heh.
So can you see why posting that Metal Gear might've been for reasons other than selling it? Maybe I'm ebay savy enough to know how many people would view the item, and find me, any maybe be able to help me out finding items on my want list. Maybe I also know Metal Gear enough to know what an item won't close for, and if it does, it'd be so much I could deal with parting it? Heh, that listing fee was the best $3.65 I've ever spent thanks for some of the people that have contacted me!

Re: violentsnake's Metal Gear sealed collection
dude I'm not trying to be rude but you're not making any sense, and let me just say I'm not trying to get any cheap items from you I've never even played MGS in my life and I probably couldn't afford your prices at 60% off. I am also NOT trying to bicker at you for setting high prices. You are entitled to set w/e price you feel, but you make it sound like you are doing the world a favor.
At one point you're saying how you'd love to help out your fellow collector and how you want to get rid of the stuff in your collection that's just "catching dust".
But, isn't it all catching dust in the first place? You don't touch it everyday I assume since everything is in "11/10" condition. Fine, I agree, games you've played have more of a sentimental value and are not just $$$ signs.
On to the next point, "helping out other collectors". You go onto say that you make 600$ a day aka ~200,000$/yr (are you a surgeon or a lawyer?) and yet you will not let something that averages 100$ in price go for 90$$? I'm sorry to say that if a collector in need wanted to pay "average price" as you call it, there are plenty of eBay stores offering rare and sealed games for the prices you are no doubt going to charge. So who exactly are you helping here? Example: If I wanted to by Final Fantasy ______ for the playstation 1 (except for 7) they have been in eBay stores for 100$, mint condition for months, anyone can get them at anytime. Yes, I realize you said that you're going to start your "unwanted" items at 0.99, but unless you set a reserve, auctions finish at LESS than avg price, and someone is going to get a "steal" or "great deal" off you.
All I'm saying is if you don't need the money, and you don't care for the games, why don't you make someone's day for letting them go for a cheap price?
It seems to me that the main focus of your listing was, as you said, to brag and to meet people who are envious of you, or maybe have something you want. Why else would you post a picture of your entire MGS collection when you are only selling one game?
I hope you meet Adol on these forums and try to do trades. You two would be perfect for each other. And again, this is not meant to be an offensive post, and I do not want to buy anything from your collection for 10$. Just trying to have a chat and figure out the mentality behind you and a lot of other collectors' attitudes.

Re: violentsnake's Metal Gear sealed collection
That was indeed the key. To meet people that had something I wanted. I went from searching for items to having people msg me, and help me fill some holes.
As far as my profession. Well, both my wife and I are in business. Not together, but the same field. Basically I review contract bids all day long, and success has come from a mentality where "This is what I want, this is what I pay", and "This is what I'm offering, this is what you pay". If it doesn't work out, I go elsewhere. It makes absolutely no friends, but when it comes performance review/bonus time, my higher ups are very happy. With 4 yrs general work experience at this job I got a position that REQUIRED 6-10 years of management experience (not general). It was definately unprecedented at my job. I'm in a field right now where there's a real bind for the services the company I work for offers, so little competition let's an asshole like myself (yes, I admit it) be very aggressive. There really isn't a whole lot of traditional negotiation, let's just say that. I've had alot of people tell me to screw off, then literally hours later call back to do business under the previously rejected terms.
If someone got a deal or steal or whatever through an auction, then I'm taking a gamble. I'm not willfully giving something up at a cheap price. A gamble can also pay off quite a bit. I saw someone sell MGS2 substance sealed recently on ebay for $430. That was insane. Whoever bought that didn't get a good deal.
So if I'm going to agree to a set price, it'd be the avg ebay/yjp closing price as I'd research recent closed listings. If I go to auction, I'll take a risk where it can close higher or lower, and probably understand if I sold alot of items it'd probably all average out. Risk and reward. I just won't make the choice to let something knowingly go cheaper. It likely has to do with growing up extremely poor and then achieving success. You might think the mentality would be to help out someone even slightly less fortunate as I was once in that position (so don't bother bringing that up), but for me it isn't. I don't know why, I've never seen a therapist. Some people just aren't the nicest.
So I hope that straightens things out with you. If you have any other confusion, please don't clutter the thread with it. I'd prefer you start a thread in another area and just PM me where it is and I'll answer you in that thread. And yes I am bragging about my items, I wouldn't have started a whole website with my collection had I not wanted people to see it. I'm not the only person showing that show's off their collections, but I know you're not saying that.

Re: violentsnake's Metal Gear sealed collection
Violentsnake's collection is unbelievable, a Metal Gear fan's dream. I first saw it on MGS forums. The sealed gold premium package in particular is an amazing item to have.
By the way violentsnake, my name on mgsforums.com is Solid's Snake, we've spoke before.
Keep up the good work, mate.

Re: violentsnake's Metal Gear sealed collection
Oh hey man!
Thanks for all the comments, if any MG collectors need any help finding anything let me know in PM, I'd be more than happy to help you out. I've cooled off buying things myself lately as I've hit a point where the items I'm looking for are so rare it's useless to search more than once a week for em (but I still search daily anyways) so I do always keep my eye out as well.
Newest addition:
All the inside contents (including game) are sealed. The box still has original wrapper but it was removed for the signatures. They're only held closed by tape anyways. The Shinkawa sketch of Snake is what sold me.
EDIT: Within a 12 hr span, I also aquired this gem off YJP (18,500Y).
2 incredibly rare Metal Gear finds in that short is span is quite amazing, for me anyways. I probably paid on the high end for the Integral, but I've literally never seen it sealed on ebay or yjp before. It's probably something I'll see all over for cheaper when I hit Tokyo and Osaka at the end of the year.
EDIT:
Woo I'm on a roll! Copy #4 of VR Missions factory sealed buy-it-now $60!!!! That's insane! At the right time I've seen this fetch between $150 and $200!

Re: violentsnake's Metal Gear sealed collection
Is that the original release of Integral? That's a really good item to have. The Japanese premium package is cool too. I've been looking to get one for a while but I've never seen one in the condition I want.
My next targets are the Subsistence limited edition, Snake Eater (PAL) + the Snake Eater premium package.

Yup, first release. I've never seen it offered sealed on ebay or yjp myself.
There's also a PSOne Book version (red spine card) and a "Konami The Best" (yellow spine card version), but those are all over for sale.
Subsistence LE has my fav cover to any of the games (if you're talking about the red one). Surprisingly even though the cost of MG items has really spiked lately this item's price seems to have stayed the same. What out for re-seals though!!! You can always use my gallery for reference, or if you want a pic or my opinion of something Metal Gear to confirm it's legit let me know.

Cool but leave some of the MGS VR Missions for the rest of us, ok? 4 copies?

I'm sorry rarebucky heh. You know what, I saw it BIN for $60 and I just couldn't resist. Add to that the shrink wrap is perfect and there's no cracks (confirmed by seller and also there was 4 pix) and he'd send it boxed to Canada for a mere $10.
I've seen it closed in the high $250-$275 range in the past, but alot of them have popper up lately. I totally wouldn't expect to get anywhere NEAR that. Half if I'm lucky! I've seen the big sellers like masterobeewan consistently get $150BIN for it.
There's is one up for bids though! It's only at $53 (1 day to go). I *SWEAR* if it doesn't get up to $80 I'll almost to try to resist bidding
Another psx jpn sealed MGS however, I'm the only guy allowed to win those on ebay heh - I'm sure pretty sure my 4 are the last 4 that've closed with winners. The only one that didn't close with a winning bid I've seen was some asshole was trying to get $500 for one. What a loser! Good luck buddy...
EDIT: Tried to score copy #5 of VR Missions, but closed at $202.50, much higher than my max bid of 78.88 that was rejected LOL
