Re: Your favourite video games
To pick only 10? Well, here goes:
Final Fantasy VI: -SNES/PSX/GBA- (First Real RPG I had the pleasure of playing...amazing story...still makes me teary. Kefka is yet to be topped in insane awesomeness)
Mass Effect: -360/PC- (Best Sci Fi Story I have seen in a game, brilliant character and VA)
Metal Gear 3: Snake Eater: -PS2- (Best overall story and "feel" I've seen in a game. CQC is a blast)
Final Fantasy VIII: -PS2/PC- (The epic turn from Cartoon to true realism in a FF series. Excellently done).
Riven: -PC/PSX/SAT- (Defined an era of what gaming was capable of graphics wise. Cemented MYST as a fantastic lore)
Prey: -360/PC- (Best Single player FPS experience (Yes, even over Bioshock). Well written personal moments).
REmake: -GCN- (The quintessentional version of the most tried and true Resident Evil...mother of Survival Horror)
Marvel Vs Capcom: -ARC/DC- (A farewell to the CPS2 board, and an amazing sendoff it was...superior in ballance, feel and especially music to MVC2)
Final Fantasy XII: -PS2- (Voice acting is second to none. Brilliant political story and graphics that defy PS2 hardware limitations. Open ended world improved upon FFXI by leaps and bounds)
World of Warcraft: -PC- Ruled my life for 2.5 years before I quit. Even today, the scope of the lore, endless quests and characters and player interaction makes it a life simulator. Though many have come before, none have pulled the virtual experience off with such fluidity)
Runners Up:
Okami
Chrono Cross
Soul Calibur III
Bioshock
Castlevania: SotN

Re: Your favourite video games
What? I'm supposed to reduce a list of nearly 4,000 to just 10 :-(
Well, okay, but I can't choose their order:
* Skies Of Arcadia/Skies Of Arcadia Legends (Dreamcast/GameCube remake)
* Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES/SNES remake/GBA remake - including all of Super Mario All-Stars would probably be cheating)
* Sonic Adventure 2/Sonic Adventure 2 (Dreamcast/GameCube remake)
* Killer Instinct (Arcade - yes, I own the arcade machine)
* Doom 2: Hell On Earth (PC, though it did come out on other systems)
* Soul Calibur (Dreamcast, Arcade)
* Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition (Gameboy (Color) - hard to pick a single game from the main series, because they aren't all that great if you can't link them with others)
* Battletoads (NES, though it did come out on other systems)
* Ecco The Dolphin (Mega CD/Sega CD, though it also came out on other systems)
* Duke Nukem 3D (PC, also released on other systems)
By rights, a The Legend Of Zelda game should make this list, but I couldn't decide which (it was hard enough deciding between Super Mario Bros. 3/Super Mario World/New Super Mario Bros.).
Similar story with Pokémon, Mairo Party, Bomberman, Ultima, Lunar, Wonderboy, Phantasy Star, Super Smash Bros., Tetris …
If collections were allowed, it'd probably read like: Super Mario All-Stars, Phantasy Star Collection, Sonic Mega Collection, Complete Ultima Collection… :-)
