Re: Introduce yourself
Hi there!
I guess i'm the most nerdiest freakin rpg game collector in Russia (maybe in the whole world). Also i'm the owner of one of the biggest jRPG resources in the web. I have thousands of games (copies) and more then 200+ CIB originals. I collect CIB rpg games for mostly SMD,SMS,SNES,N64,GG,GB. Currenlty the most complete is my Sega Genesis set. Ohh and i collect both NTSC USA and JAPAN edition as well. And some PAL..
Also i collect very rare PC games which cannot be found on ebay and even YJA.
I'm not really a sealed collector, but i do enjoy sealed stuff more and more. What i regret most is that i unsealed my Aidyn Chronicles for N64 and Ogre battle 64... And even more for a Phantasy Star 2... damnit..
If you need some Rpg consultation let me know However i'm mostly experienced in retro stuff.

Re: Introduce yourself
Hello everyone,
I just joined up a few days ago, and I forgot to introduce myself lol
My name is John, and I'm from New York (born and raised!). I really only collect games that meant a lot to me growing up...so series like Final Fantasy (and all the spinoffs), Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat and Breath of Fire (to name a few) are the kind I really collect. Big fan of videogames in general, but I stick to this small niche when it comes to collecting...
Some of my favorite items in my collection:
1. Chrono Trigger factory sealed NTSC (without a doubt)
2. Final Fantasy III SNES (NTSC aka FFVI)
3. Secret of Mana - SNES NTSC
4. Final Fantasy X - NTSC, black label, Squaresoft versions (4 copies)
5. Tie between FFVII black label Y-Fold and FFVII big box PC edition
I've been reading some of your collections as well, and I must say...you guys really have some A M A Z I N G stuff! I still can't get over that someone had a factory sealed black label Castlevania SOTN. WOW lol...great to be aboard!

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi all,
thought I'd come out of the shadows and say a quick hello.
Name's Jon, and I'm a 27 year old GIS software engineer from the US.
I've been playing games since I remember, but started to buy sealed copies of games I love starting back in highschool as I guess a way of preserving a piece of art I though was worthy to be saved throughout time. Maybe a lil too poetic, but you get the gist.
Because of this, I usually collect slightly obscure titles that people may not find as...um, cool as I do. For example, I don't have a sealed original FF7 but I have FF6, FF8, FF10 and FF12. I don't have Chrono Trigger but have a bunch of Chrono Cross. No Mario but I have Arcana. Etc etc. It's all good though.
For a long time people didn't understand my appeal of having a game for any other reason then to open it. I'm somewhat releaved to find myself not alone

Re: Introduce yourself
Hey Jon
Good to have you here
I think a lot of people would find your "obscure" titles as good as you do
Chrono Cross is a game which might be not so popular as FF VII, but I would say it's also one of the most popular RPGs for the PS.
Ok...Arcana might be really a little bit obscure....but I have it also in my collection
I try to get as much RPGs as possible in a sealed condition...and there are also some obscure and "unknown" titles in the collection.
Hope you'll post some pics soon

LOL, you're already my hero, that game is awesome. More than anything, it's the first game that really got me into videogame music. The soundtrack in this one is gorgeous...
Squaresoft would later definitely have a hand in this as well.

So I get his "semi-sealed" version Once played it a little and I think it's really good! Couldn't stop to play, but know I don't have the time to play it through. But if I finished Eye of the Beholder and have enough time, I think I begin with Arcana and maybe one time I want it sealed too.
But I think my first... eh second sealed SNES game would be 7th Saga, which isn't so famous and poular too.

Hey there!
Thought I'd register here to check things out and hopefully have a good time reading and contributing to the forums.
Not much to say about me, really, I'm a newly started "collector", meaning I enjoy playing games and genereally have a hard time getting rid of them again afterwards Anyway, I'm both collecting games and related material - magazines, merchandise and other junk, and I'd love to see my collection grow over time.. Maybe some kind people here will help me out on this mission?
Well, I guess that's it for now. Roger over and out.

I don't have much for now but the systems I'm focusing on are NES, SNES, Atari **00's and, my personal favorite, the Amiga CD32

An introduction of myself and SashimiGames.com
Greetings everybody! Pascal invited me to come check out this forum and to introduce myself and also my store, so here I am.
Sashimi Games located at http://www.sashimigames.com is my store, I am based out of the USA and offer mainly new and used USA region games for the NES all the way up to the present day systems (with a growing number of imports as well). Although I have more used games than new, I do have a fairly large selection of factory-sealed games up on the site which is the obvious draw for you guys.
My store isn't brand new, I've been around for a little while, but my selection has just now gotten large enough that I feel I can start really promoting my site to the world at-large and especially all the collectors out there. I'm at around 2000 items now listed at the site (95% are mint and complete or factory sealed), with thousands more I am working on adding.
From talking to Pascal and others, I know how exactly you are when it comes to the condition of sealed items. As such, I would extend the invitation that if you see something you are interested in and want to contact me, I will work with you to search for any imperfections whatsoever in the shrinkwrap, underlying box/case, etc. I condition-grade all of my games harshly and every listing has a large picture of the actual item, but there may always be slight imperfections on sealed games I might miss the first time around and/or others may not really care about.
I won't go into too much more detail here, I have a lot longer thread on DigitPress.com if you want to read more about why I think I am better than any other USA game store out there and how I intend to improve in the future. Also, I know there are a lot of Europeans and other non-USA citizens out there, I am extremely experienced in packaging and sending out-of-country and all of my shipping rates are very fair. Please come take advantage of the pathetically weak US dollar!
Anyway, come check out my site when you get a chance and it's nice to meet all of you!
Jason
Owner, SashimiGames.com

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi all,
Just thought I'd say hi, seems like a cool group here.
I haven't been collecting sealed games but the last few weeks have been wanting to do so for some reason...I don't think I need one - they just look so damn perfect!
I mainly want particular dreamcast games that remind of good times with mates etc. and start a fuller collection from there.
Cheers,
patch
ps, if anyone wants to sell a sealed DC SOA, you'd make my day

Re: Introduce yourself
hello,
I would consider myself a sealed collector by accident. I have been buying games for the last few years, and never have enough time to play them all. So right now I probably have at least 50 sealed games for US PS1, PS2, xbox 360, gamecube, and wii. A lot of them were cheap games that I probably shouldn't have even bought, but I have a few good ones like final fantasy's and metal gear solids. I also have at least 200 opened games.
I can relate to how most of you feel, because ever since I was really young, there was always something nice about getting a new game, nice and sealed. Even holding one now is like getting a new toy. I never buy used games, and only want new ones for even the games I open. Yes, it is a sickness...

Re: Introduce yourself
LOL It's funny how I never noticed this thread until now Since most introduction threads have there own main forum. Anyways just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to my fellow collectors. Gaming has been a great passion of mine since the NES days. As the years went on, I found it very difficult to maintain that passion. I usually spent 6-8 hours a day playing my favorites. Until real life hits you in the face all of a sudden. That passion has turned to a favorite hobby of mine. This is where a gamer became a collector. And the only reason for this was to cherish to those moments of gaming glory.
Enough with my useless rambling, hope this didn't bore you. Glad to be aboard.

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi, I'm Zephyr I live in a small coastal town in the north island of New Zealand.
I'm an RPG player and collector and I have every RPG ever released on PS1&2 both PAL and NTSC and some Japanese. Unfortunately not many of my PS1 games are sealed because when I began collecting them I didn't really think about it. But since I've woken up to it I keep my PS2 games sealed (more about that in another post).
Because my PS2 is mod-chipped I play the NTSC game as soon as it's released, and a few .... many ... several months later when (IF) the game is released in PAL I keep it sealed. At the moment I'm trying to 'catch up' on the earlier PAL RPGs I missed. I also collect strategy guides for the RPGs.
I collect RPG memorabilia: figures (some sealed), posters, t-shirts, phone straps, memory cards, art books and a few other odds and ends.
I also collect PlayStation memorabilia; posters, t-shirts, pens, compendiums, drink bottles, clocks, frisbies, keyrings, lanyards, stickers, signs, in fact pretty much anything with the 'PS' logo on.
I'm still uploading pictures (well ... I will be when I buy a replacement camera - the last one couldn't handle the pace, lol).
I also review RPGs and write RPG related articles for NZGamer.com under my 'real name' - Sherrin English - or you can look for my personal avatar on things I've writen. I heard of this site through NZGamer.
