Some ebay and listing questions
OK time has come for me to try selling something from ebay. Because i cannot sell it in Russia. I'm hoarded in sh*t!
i have a few questions
1) if i set a reserve price and it won't be matched then will i be able to relist it for free or need to pay ALL fees again??
2) what is a fee for final auction cost? when i need to pay it? after auction ends?? I heard they are pretty insane. And there is a big loss on expensive items.

Re: Some ebay and listing questions
Before you sell, make sure you find out true shipping costs in Russia. Don't try to guess because if it's less you will lose money.
Also, try to list on eBay.com and not eBay.ru because then you will reach the USA audience (eBay.co.uk for PAL games).
As far as reserve, I think it's a waste of money, because unless your item is poorly listed, the auction will finish at the price it deserves. However, if you still want to make one, I think there is a FEE to put the reserve price, but not to relist if reserve price isn't met.
Final auction cost is unfortunately your listing cost (you pay no matter if your auction finished or nobody bought it) + final value fee which is a percentage of your overall fee.

if you type ebay fee or paypal calculator in google it comes up with a calcualtor thing that will work out the ebay fees (the final value fee) that you have to pay after the auction ends and the amount paypal will rob you of once the buyer has paid by Paypal, hope this helped, not sure if this is what you meant of not?

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html
For your case, $0.1 listing fee (if you just take 1 picture,no bold title,or any extra of that kind)
Final value fee: $2.19 + 0.035 x 75= $4.815
Then $4.915 total.
If you take paypal payments, then paypal will take AGAIN around 3,5-4% fee.

And if i set a reserve price and it won't be matched at the end. Will i need to pay all these fees (e.g reserve price fee) again when i relist auction?
Re: Some ebay and listing questions
Yes,of course. But they'll refund you JUST the listing fee ($0.1 then)if it get sold the second time
Reserve price fee is 2% of your reserve price (expensive)

Shit, so reserve price is a pain in the ass.. And not worth it in most of times?Adol wrote:Yes,of course. But they'll refund you JUST the listing fee ($0.1 then)if it get sold the second time

Re: Some ebay and listing questions
Personally,i gave up using reserve price years ago, because of such price.
I prefer to start auction at the price i want, and if i have a bidder, fine.
If i have more,better.

Re: Some ebay and listing questions
yea. Basically, if you sell it for a lot of money, you will be paying eBay a lot of money, and if not eBay than PayPal. There is NO way around this unless you use some other site than ebay.

Re: Some ebay and listing questions
what do you think is it reasonable to list US stuff on UK ebay? and is this possible at all?
Re: Some ebay and listing questions
sure it's possible, but I wouldn't recommend it because uk gamers buy uk games usually. Besides, there is an option when listing to make your results show up on all international ebay sites (i dont even think it costs any more).

Re: Some ebay and listing questions
OMG! I guess there are always such surprises with ebay, my friend. Especially if you're really trying to get deep into it.

Re: Some ebay and listing questions
well there is some listing fee credit feature, but looks like video games do not qualify for it.
Re: Some ebay and listing questions
Which is rather strange, especially if we think about the volume of video game sales at ebay + the ammounts they earn from those listings alone
