Auctions that end late at night

Heya.


I recently put some games for auction. The problem is, the auctions all end at 23.00 at night. For some reason i messed up when i was gonna put 20.00 as end time.

How does this effect the bidding? Will only a handful people be awake to bid? I mean since every auctions ends around 18-21.00 i have started become afraid that maybe actually sleeps at 23.00?

Many people do that, you want to see if you win the game or not. You do not just place your max bid and then go to sleep and wake up the next morning and see if you got lucky. In the heat of the last minutes of an auction many people can bid more than they intended.

poor people. They should sleep more. No matter how you try - last seconds snipe wins.

it depends on your target group - if you want to sell something worldwide, you need to consider the time difference (e.g. many US auctions end at 3 or 4 a.m. GMT+1, which is the reason why i often don't bid on stuff i'm interested in - i just dont want to wake up that early). so in your case - a later (european) ending time might even get you more overseas bidders
