Not sure if you've noticed this before, but two of your Zelda's are different from the other two. Are two perhaps PAL versions? Or did Nintendo have two print runs of this game?

Re: Blarky's sealed Nes/Snes game collection
They are all NTSC, however as you noticed two have the old style Nintendo seal of quality, and two have the newer one. I don't know the full story behind the change in style (perhaps someone else does), but somewhere down the line Nintendo got rid of the round, gray seal in favor of a more oval, easier to see white seal.Gemini-Phoenix wrote:Not sure if you've noticed this before, but two of your Zelda's are different from the other two. Re: Blarky's sealed Nes/Snes game collection
I am humbled by the interest. I don't think I'll be selling anytime soon though Off the top of my head, there's still a few games I'd love to have, but unfortunately are mega rare: Kid Icarus and Dragon Warrior II. If you have either of those, I'd love to chat with you.... :P Super Metroid would be nice too.

Blaster Master definitley ranks up there. Definitley some good times with that game! A little underrated and ahead of it's time IMO.Jason88 wrote:blarky, WOW.

Re: Blarky's sealed Nes/Snes game collection
You pretty much have every propaganda related item to the game at the time it was published. I remember reading some of that back in the day. That 3d model of Sophia is cool, I remember seeing it years ago on BMU.Jason88 wrote:A little underrated and ahead of it's time IMO.....I agree

I knew that Nintendo had changed the Seal Of Quality logo, but it is unusual to see the same game with both versions of it. Is either version of Zelda more sought after than the other perhaps? If memory serves me right, didn't Zelda have a low print run at first and then Nintendo realised that it was more popular than they had thought, and reissued it... I think this may be what happened here

Re: Blarky's sealed Nes/Snes game collection
In case anyone is curious, this is the wikipedia entry regarding the seal of quality:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Seal_of_Quality
Originally, for NTSC countries, the seal was a large, black and gold circular starburst. The seal read as follows: This seal is your assurance that NINTENDO has approved and guaranteed the quality of this product. This seal was later altered around 1988; approved and guaranteed was changed to evaluated and approved. In 1989, the seal became gold and white, much like it appears today, with a shortened phrase Official NINTENDO Seal of Quality. The symbol remained unchanged until 2003 when the of Quality segment was removed.
So I think it's safe to assume that anything with the original seal is from an earlier production run of the game... i.e it's older. How much older, who knows. At least from 1988/89 or before.

Re: Blarky's sealed Nes/Snes game collection
I think its interesting that no one really collects sealed Gamecube games, even though there are some very nice ones especially in the japanese corner.

Re: Blarky's sealed Nes/Snes game collection
Quite a lot of Japanese gamecube games don't come sealed, and those that do come with the type of seal thats easy to make/re-create by naughty ebay sellers.

Re: Blarky's sealed Nes/Snes game collection
Damn, what a collection Only now I can see the pics (with other browser). It's really impressive. But there is no feeling to desperatly want to have one of this game, because I prefer the nintendo tear strip... except one game: 7th Saga! I love this game and I managed to play it through. The last boss is very impressive and the story is stirring (don't know if this is the right word). So this is one of the few SNES games I want to have in sealed condition. Otherwise I only collect Gamecube und GBA sealed. I think this will also be the first sealed SNES game I buy.
Re: Blarky's sealed Nes/Snes game collection
Wow, really impressive especially seeing the doubles are really cool.
I know it has been raised a million times but if you ever feel like selling your doubles (hint hint: chrono trigger), please PM me.
Two quick questions, hopefully someone can help answer:
1. Were PAL NES games sealed (from my experience and vague memory from my research, some games were sealed but not all right? and there were not sealed with red strips of nintendo)
2. How many total PAL gamecube games were released?
Been trying to find an answer to this question for a long time, asked around in DP, but no one knows

Hi, yes PAL Nes games were sealed, just in various ways. Some of which did come with the red nintendo tear strip.
