brinn selling resealed games
Finally i got my sega genesis games from Steve Brinn. Well. Looks like at least 3 of 4 games are resealed. One is a definite reseal. There's a piece of case destroyed and some very torn and used manual can be seen inside.
Re: brinn selling resealed games
Who is Steve Brinn anyways?

Re: brinn selling resealed games
I contacted Brinn and showed him pictures,He agreed to refund price of 2 games without even sending them back. At least he's an honest seller. Too bad when such shit happens.
Re: brinn selling resealed games
Wow, that's a bad reseal. I've been hearing that lately about Brinn...that other people had that problem as well. I recently discovered one of my SNES games was resealed and he agreed to take it back and give me a refund. The other ones in your pics...can't tell. I can say I bought a bunch of sealed Genny games from him and they look legit.

Re: brinn selling resealed games
Hey Adam, can you make some pics of your sealed genesis games for me? I need to check em.rarebucky wrote:Wow, that's a bad reseal. Looks like after recieving these games i have a 100% understanding of how the legit genesis sealed should look like.
First: seams should be straight. No curving. All seams should looks like if they were made in 1 attempt (no knots)
Second: there should only be seam on the bottom. And no seams on top and left(spine)/right.
three: Hanging tab should not be sealed completely.
Re: brinn selling resealed games
I'll make some pics for you but the "rules" you posted aren't correct. Many Genesis games were sealed over the hangtab and have seams on the sides. How do I know this for sure? Well, because I still have some games I bought new in the early 90s from KB and TRU

Re: brinn selling resealed games
And you are sure they were not resealed by the store itself?rarebucky wrote:I'll make some pics for you but the "rules" you posted aren't correct. The factory seal must absolutely have NO holes(except from hangtab) on the shrinkwrap. That's for sure.
I have about a dozen of sealed genesis games. So now it's pretty easy to distinguish reseals (either by stores or not).
I have several games which all look same (e.g factory ones). and these ones from brinn all look different. Different seams, in different places, holes here and there. Even seams on the spine. The only one which legit is....funny..but it's Exile. It has neat thin seams. No garbage. But it has a seam on the right. And i'm also suspicious.
Re: brinn selling resealed games
Yes, I'm positive, believe me. If all Genesis games were sealed like the ones you have (with the seam on the bottom, oval hole on top with hangtab sticking out) you wouldn't have so much confusion on the factory seals of these games. Many of mine (70%) are sealed like that and in general, that's a good rule of thumb but there are others that did not come like that. My Out Run, for instance, is sealed along 3 sides (top and 2 sides) over the hangtab, and that one I got from TRU like that. I know they didn't reseal it because since then I've purchased other games on ebay that were sealed identically.

That's because all of his good items were sold off over the last 6-12 months

BTW: About sword of vermillion. MIne does not have a guidebook attached at back. 100% reseal i guess?
Re: brinn selling resealed games
Yes. Vermillion and PS2 have the guidebook wrapped at the book.
