Receiving Damaged Games
God damn it!
I've been after a sealed copy of Tokyo Bus Guide 2 for ages now, and finally found a copy last week on Ebay.
It cost $50 delivered, and I've just received it now, damaged.
The case is broken to pieces, the cover has a big slash down the spine, and its really crumpled. I've opened it, and the manual has crumples too.
I've paid for insurance (ems from japan), will the postal service give a refund?
Anyone else got any stories of receiving damaged sealed games in the post?

Re: Receiving Damaged Games
Oh man...
Things like that really sucks.
But donīt worry, when the seller shipped it with EMS, he will get refunded through EMS- this means you have to take a pic of the broken item, mail it with a short statement to the seller, return the game(return shipping costs should be also paid by the seller) and then he has to refund you.
When you have paid with paypal and the seller wonīt refund you, claim a file with paypal, they will work things out for you.

Re: Receiving Damaged Games
That's simple. When an asshole seller ships a sealed game a crappy way and this one arrives destroyed > paypal complaint + refund even without talking to the guy.
I pay for a decent service, I ask for a safe shipping and I receive bullshit, the guy does not even deserve my talk.
When I ship something expensive, I ship it well to make sure it arrives safely so I don't see why I should pay to receive stuff I will have to rebuy because of the seller's stupidity.

Yeah, I'm the same. If a game is a dreamcast, snes, n64, gba, etc.. game, then I send it in a padded box with fragile stickers. The game gets wrapped several times in bubble wrapping, and I make sure it can't bump around inside the box.
Normal games like PS2 games get sent in a bubble bag, but accidents still do happen like my Tokyo Bus Guide 2.

Re: Receiving Damaged Games
Yes... i too pack games extreamly well and do get mad when games get damaged when delivered to my door. In my country the post office will not refund any damaged sealed video games as they come back with the quote 'it still works' after argueing wth them over this previously it's better to just contact the seller and launch a complaint with paypal if need be. Royal Mail do not understand the needs of collectors.
